My name is Jane McKeown, and I am an Early Intervention Director for Foothills Creative Beginnings. I have been a teacher in Alberta for over 20 years. I worked as a kindergarten teacher, a resource teacher as well as a behaviour class teacher. Through these experiences my desire to have all children have a good start to school was strengthened. Over 10 years ago, I had the opportunity to work for Foothills Creative Beginnings. I started as an Early Learning Coordinator and eventually became a director.
As a director, I can impact children’s lives by sharing knowledge and experiences with the people who look after these children. It gives me great joy to hear the stories of how Foothills Creative Beginnings teams change the lives of children.
It fills us all with joy when we hear a parent say that their child spoke for the first time, or their child could handle a social situation properly.
Foothills Creative Beginnings has always encouraged my professional growth as well as our staff. It is wonderful to see different staff pursue an interest and blossom into a different role.
Foothills Creative Beginnings believes in our children exploring the world through creativity. I am a knitter as well as a cross stitcher. I love working with the different colours and creating something new.
