I am Michele Steier the Director of Licensed Programs, and I am a proud long time Foothills Creative Beginnings employee! I have been working in the early childhood education field since 2007 in various roles as an educational assistant, a preschool educator, and now a director. FCB has provided opportunities for my professional growth which has been incredibly rewarding.
I studied Early Childhood Education and Development and am a child development supervisor (level 3). I have been certified in Flight; Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Curriculum, Leading Through a Pedagogical Lens, and am working to complete the Health and Human Services Management program.
My passion for early childhood education has become an integral part of my identity.
I believe that through building of relationships, a strength-based approach, and cultivating curiosity helps to lay the foundation for a child’s early learning journey. As a director, I use these same strategies with educators, a team-based approach creates a responsive, equitable early childhood environment.
What’s your favourite way to play?
I have always been drawn to play involving creative expression such as painting, constructing, drawing, and music.
Fun fact: I enjoy camping and it fills my heart to take barefoot walks in the woods.
