Hello, my name is Hayley Sloan, and I teach the morning kindergarten class in Calgary. I am a dedicated teacher and throughout my career, I have always focused on teaching in inclusive environments. I enjoy being a teacher because I can support students and their families. I have taught from preschool to grade six students in classroom and small group settings. I use my creativity and problem-solving skills to allow children to develop their literacy, numeracy and social skills. I moved with my family to Calgary shortly before the pandemic. Therefore, most of my teaching experience was in Ontario. Since we’ve moved, we have enjoyed exploring Calgary and Alberta and we adopted two cats, Pekoe and Clancy. The young cats are a great company, and they keep the whole family laughing with their antics. In my personal time, I can be found watching my son play soccer as I am his team’s manager or baking and shopping with my daughter. As a family, we also like to go boating and visit our extended families in B.C. and Ontario.
